Galactic Idle · Renderscribe Interactive · Last updated 14 September 2026

Galactic Idle is a single-player idle game. It runs on your device and stores your progress locally. This policy explains the one optional piece of data collection in the game — anonymous gameplay analytics — and what happens if you turn it on.

The short version

We do not ask for your name, email, or any account. We do not show ads. We do not sell or share data with anyone for marketing. Analytics are off until you explicitly opt in, and you can turn them back off at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data.

Data stored on your device

Your save file (resources, buildings, fleet, research, settings) is kept in your browser's localStorage or the app's local storage. It never leaves your device unless you back it up yourself. Deleting the app, or using “Delete Save & Restart” in Settings, removes it.

Optional analytics (opt-in)

If you accept the analytics prompt, the game sends gameplay events to PostHog, a product-analytics service, hosted in the European Union. We use this only to understand how the game is paced — where players progress smoothly and where they get stuck — so we can balance it.

What is sentWhat it is not
A random device identifier generated by PostHog; session start/end and length; how long the game took to become interactive and when you first interact with it (a tap or a build); which step of the opening tutorial you reached; coarse progression milestones (first building, ship, research, conquest; planets conquered, doctrines and upgrades unlocked, playtime); in-game events such as goals completed, battles, expeditions; whether you returned after being away; if you answer the optional one-tap “what language would you rather play in” poll, your choice and the language(s) your browser is set to; an approximate location (roughly city level) and device/browser type, derived by PostHog from your IP address at the moment the event is received — the IP address itself is discarded and never stored. Your name, email, or any contact detail; your IP address (PostHog is set to discard it); GPS or otherwise precise location; advertising identifiers; contacts, photos, files, or anything else on your device; any cross-app or cross-site tracking.

Analytics use first-party local storage only — no third-party tracking cookies. PostHog is configured with automatic capture and session recording disabled, and with identified user profiles turned off.

Legal basis

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal basis for processing analytics data is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw it at any time in Settings; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.

Retention

Analytics events are retained by PostHog for up to 12 months and then deleted or aggregated. Local save data persists on your device until you delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete data about you, or to object to its processing. Because analytics data is keyed only to a random identifier we cannot look you up by name, but if you contact us from the device in question we will help where we can.

Data deletion

There is no account to delete — there is nothing tied to your identity to begin with. Two ways to remove your data:

Local save data (resources, buildings, fleet, research, settings): delete it yourself, instantly, from Settings → Delete Save & Restart, or by uninstalling the app / clearing site data. No request needed.

Analytics data (only if you opted in): email renderscribe@outlook.com and ask us to delete it. Since events are keyed to a random identifier rather than your name or email, include the approximate date(s) you played and your platform (Android / web) so we can locate the right records. We will delete them from PostHog on request.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the in-app notice will be shown again before any new collection begins.
